Young Folks and Friends Union (YFFU)

Rev. Carl Broome
National YFFU President

Dea. Tabitha Allen
National YFFU Coordinator

Brief History and Purpose

Our third Chief Overseer, the Late Bishop James W. Jenkins created the Young Folks and Friends Union (YFFU) during his administration.  The YFFU is the youth auxiliary of The House of God Church, Inc., Keith Dominion.

The YFFU was created to:

  1. To intelligently train our young people in the doctrine of True Holiness,

  2. To make their influences in true Holiness meaningful,

  3. To develop an appreciation for the pioneers of the Past,

  4. To inspire them to grow in Knowledge, Faith and Purity,

  5. To assist our youth in finding their places in the Church.

The National YFFU Committee helped to establish YFFUs in local bands throughout the Church.  In the General Assembly, a Youth Day was incorporated and highlighted by a national contest.

Mr. and Miss YFFU Contest

The Mr. and Miss YFFU Contest was originally a fundraiser in which a male and female youth represented each diocese and competed to win the title of Mr. and Miss YFFU.  The diocese that raised the most money won the competition.  Thousands of dollars were raised by the youth of the Church and added to the National Treasury.  These YFFU fundraisers were a key part of the Church achieving financial independence and fueled the expansion of the Church.  The contest is still in existence to date annually during the General Assemblies in Nashville, TN, and provides financial support to the educational department of the Church.
